1990
Haalah's first saluki arrived from the
Classicus Kennels, in England on March 8th, 1990. While
visiting in England for 6 weeks, I attended Crufts and visited
as many kennels as I could get to. I fell in love with an
8 week old "jumping bean" I later called Olivia.
Her registered name is Ch. Classicus Hortensia. Olivia was
the center of my life till her death in October 2002 at
the age of 12 1/2.
For Olivia's first birthday, I gave her
a playmate and husband, Ch. Dadaelis C'Ar Haazim. Haazim
was out of the magnificent chocolate English import, Ch.
Jeshins Arabis Haazim and Olivia produced my first litter
of 7 pups in Feb. 1995. I kept the tiny elegant black bitch
named, Ch. Haalah's Aeolian Drucilla, LCM.
1992
In 1992, Haazim's beautiful red littermate,
Ch. Dadaelis C'Ar Jaeyme came to live with us. I bred
Jaeyme to Tallahamra Mithras Perstare in 1995 and
the Haalah Dadaelis litter of 7 color pups arrived
in October. Tallahamra Mithras Perstare was a small
black field champion with an incredible English pedigree
which was quite old.
During the summer of 1992, I visited Finland
and was able to see their Sighthound Specialty Show. It
was then I fell in love with the dogs from the El Hamrah
Kennel. I particularly was taken with International, Danish,
Estonian, Finnish Champion El Hamrah Timirr-Khan. When Pirjo
informed me he was being bred, I immediately reserved a
male pup. I imported a male, Ch. El Hamrah Darizain Haalah
in March of 1994.
1996
The third litter was a result of using
my Finnish import, Dari on Leah Harrington's Canadian Best
in Specialty Show Champion Firuza Francesca bred by Ingrid
Romanowski. This co breeding with Firuza, Heathland and
Haalah kennels produced 6 beautiful cream pups in April
1996. I kept Canadian Ch. Haalah Firuza Fauve Heathland.
In 2001, Fauve was taken to Haazim and produced a litter
of 9. Out of this litter, I kept a cream and a red bitch
and a black tri male
2002
In the summer of 2002, I returned to Finland and visited
with Veronica Margelin of the Asarafi Kennel. I fell in
love with a tiny little bitch and imported her two months
later.
